Easter 2012 Part 2: Post Easter training

After little computer glitch I'm hoping things are back on track.

After the Easter training was done Liz did her best to herd the dogs & people down to the river for a little R&R, a swim, and a group picture.

To the river!
Being the senior (or hairiest?) dog, Tate took on the official Parade Marshall duties and led the masses down to the riverside banks.

Andy in among the dogs trying to get some candid photos while avoiding dog-snot on the camera lens.

Cedar was beside herself - new dogs, a river, no leash, woohoo!!
zoooom!
Not sure ten-year-old-Tate was as impressed with the frantic running. He was soon 'barking' out riverside orders to the new kid.
"Cedar! watch out for the damn cow pies!"
Cedar all googly eyed at the other collie, Kort.
Dude, whats with all that fur!
Once in the water, everyone was fair game to 'The Tongue'. Mazie seemed a little unsure about the enthusiastic stare (leer?) from Kort who seems to be eagerly awaiting his turn!
Mazie: "Cedar, what's with that weird Collie dude staring at us?"
Even poor Tate was not spared...
"Mmmm, I think you have a kibble stuck in your molar Tate!
Even with all the racket and buzz at his own swimming hole, Tinbie managed to find his 'special place' and just stood back letting the water, and noise, flow around him.

Once the initial water fun was over, Cedar thought it would be great to attack inanimate objects such as the dreaded riverbank. Kill!
Grrr!

Kort the Collie couldn't watch the young pup make a fool of herself and had to look away as did Sarah.  Patricia and Judy seem to be commenting the disturbing behaviour of the little creature while Pete on the other hand seems pretty impressed at her tenacity.
Judy to Patricia: "Did you see that? She just ate a metre of riverbank!"

After an unsuccessful attack on 'The Riverbank", Cedar barely had the energy left to haul her boney little bum up and over said foe.
I think I can, I think I can...
Now for the mostly group photo attempt - kinda like herding cats! Judy Hunt giving it her best, while Sarah B holds the devil child.
Collie, Collie, Flatcoat, Border Collie, Flatcoat, Flatcoat,  Flatcoat,  Flatcoat,  Flatcoat, Devil Child
Jolene's collies...F@#*ing showoffs!  ;)
"Hey Tate, not sure why those silly flatcoats can't listen like we do?"
"Peter Pan..."
As good as it gets, a few still on leash out of the picture due silly behaviour. Kort is drifting a bit here, ha!

Walking back up to the car from the river I kept feeling something at my pocket, it was Kort trying to sneak cookies! How could I miss a dog with a 23.5" schnoz!!

Hi Dave, got a cookie, huh? Cookies Dave? I saw them in your pocket. Cookies? Can I have a cookie?
I could smell 'em with my nose!.

Packed up the dogs and cars and started to head out. Tate felt he had to say goodbye to everyone...at least 3 times!
Jolene with Tate saying good-bye

As all the distractions pulled away, Tinbie sauntered out to the field, flopped down and rolled around on his back as if to say "Ahhh, the peace and quiet of the prairie back again"

And finally we got Cedar home, exhausted after a much-needed bath...
